Morris Minor Series II
There is a delightful story that accompanies this Morris Minor. Registered on 26th January 1956, it was bought by a gentleman and remained in his family for over 50 years until Devon Classic Cars Ltd bought it from his grandson. Over the years various remedial works have been carried out to maintain the car's appearance and proof of this in found in the extensive History File that accompanies the car. There is even a copy of a poem by Pam Ayers! It is also a bit of a celebrity as it has been exhibited in many rallies and shows and been included in local press articles, all of which can been seen in the History File.
When we acquired it there was some work that needed doing; there was a fault with the engine, the brakes needed a complete overhaul and various parts of the body needed attention. However, this was not too bad for a 50 year old!
Initially the car was stripped out, rear wings, boot bumpers and bonnet were removed and the Driver's side door and wing alignment was rectified. Repairs on the doors, bonnet and wings were carried out and welded into place.
Next the engine was stripped out and the engine bay cleaned. The car was then masked up and sent to the Spray Booth where it received several coats of Primer in readiness for its initial top coat.
Here is our Minor after the paintwork has been completed. As you can see it has been restored in its original green. We just need to re-install the engine and refit the trimmings after which the Minor will be available for sale.
